Saturday Sketch Challenge 172

I have certainly enjoyed taking a few weeks off from posting. Everyone needs a break from time to time... it's GREAT for the mojo! I also REALLY enjoyed playing with Gretchen's sketches! It's going to be AWESOME to share and try different styles every week! Way cool!

This week I may be back, but I got the inspiration from another operator, Robin Merriman. Robin designed this card ~ which really brings me into clean and simple lines (which I love). Although my card looks nothing like Robin's I loved her card enough to make it into a sketch! Thanks for the inspiration GF!

More inside information ~ Miss Robin has always said that she doesn't want to be in charge of doing a sketch... Well, in an indirect sort of way, she DID do the sketch today.. (funny).

I also have to share that I'm IN LOVE with the new format of this shared blog and feel we are blessed to have so much talent all in one place! Thanks to all of those who play along and to EACH OPERATOR. Thank you for making this such a wonderful, uncompetitive place to play, that's not about "being sold" but about the love of our craft! (Love You Guys). This is what it's all about!

Alrighty.. So how about some measurements! I'm going to give you the one's from my card (because I just did them!) Feel free to try different versions and even visit each operator blog to get a different take on the same sketch..

Base 11 x 4 1/4", scored and folded in half at 5 1/2"
Layer 2: 4 x 5 1/4"
I used a ribbon in between ~ you could cut a piece 1 1/4" x 4 for this layer.
Layer 3: 4 1/4" x 3 1/4" (note, you cut this from an 8 1/2" x 11 and yeild 6 per sheet. cut down the center first at 4 1/4")
Layer 4: 3 x 4" (note: this one is smarter to cut from a 12 x 12... cut first at 4" then at 3", yields 12 pieces from ONE sheet of 12 x 12" card stock. ) Much more economical!

Does the thought of cutting your card stock using measurements baffle you? Well, you can check out the most awesome post on how to read a ruler written by the very lovely and talented Lee Conrey, by clicking here.

As with EVERY week, if you need to change it up, do so! You just want to use this sketch as a jumping off point for your design then let your imagination do the rest!

Without further delay, here are your operator cards for this week.
